Brooklyn Man Indicted for Anti-Muslim Assault in Manhattan

David Grinblat faces hate crime charges after allegedly attacking a Muslim man near Rockefeller Center.

The incident occurred on August 5, when Grinblat allegedly spat on and punched the victim while making anti-Muslim remarks.
Grinblat has been charged with two counts of assault as a hate crime and one count of aggravated harassment.
The victim, Sheharyar Ali Kazmi, recorded part of the altercation on his phone and suffered injuries to his face.
Grinblat was arrested three days after the incident and has been released under supervised conditions.
The Manhattan District Attorney's office is currently prosecuting 10 anti-Muslim hate crime cases this year.
