Brooklyn Homeless Shelter Worker Fatally Stabbed Outside Facility

The victim, a 35-year-old employee of a third-party contractor, was attacked Thursday evening, and police are searching for a masked suspect.

Robbie Miller, 35, was fatally stabbed outside a Brooklyn homeless shelter on East New York Avenue on Thursday evening before seeking help inside the building.
The victim suffered stab wounds to his neck and abdomen and was pronounced dead at Brookdale University Hospital shortly after the attack.
Police described the suspect as a man approximately 6’1” and 225 pounds, dressed in black clothing, a ski mask, and a baseball cap, last seen fleeing on foot.
The shelter operates in a former Days Inn hotel under a third-party contractor for New York City's Department of Homeless Services.
The NYPD has reported a significant rise in murders in the precinct this year, with 20 homicides compared to seven during the same period last year.
