Brooklyn double shooting kills one, injures another as 83rd Precinct’s shooting tally climbs

With no witnesses coming forward or arrests made the NYPD continues to investigate ballistics evidence from the shooting scene

Overview

  • Around 10 p.m. Monday officers responding to 911 calls discovered a 39-year-old man and a 63-year-old man shot outside a residence at 1233 Putnam Avenue in Bushwick.
  • Paramedics transported both to Brookdale Hospital where the younger victim, later identified as Ramel Fisher, died at 10:47 p.m. and the older victim remained in stable condition after sustaining an eye wound.
  • The latest shooting brings the precinct’s tally to nine victims and seven incidents so far this year, compared with just two victims and two incidents during the same period in 2024.
  • Investigators recovered shell casings but have yet to determine whether the attack was targeted or involved innocent bystanders.
