Brooke Shields Elected President of Actors' Equity Association

Shields aims to leverage her star power and Broadway experience to enhance union's profile and advocacy.

Brooke Shields won the presidency in a three-way race against Erin Maureen Koster and Wydetta Carter.
She succeeds Kate Shindle, who served as president since 2015 and chose not to seek re-election.
Shields has committed to using her influence to advocate for arts funding and increase the value of union membership.
Other key officers elected include Rashaan James II as Eastern Regional VP and Sarah LaBarr as Central Regional VP.
Shields' term and those of other newly elected officers begin immediately and will last for four years.
