Overview

• The victim was identified by police as Amaury Carrion, 46, who was shot early on Sept. 20.
• The shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the 900 block of Rev. James A. Polite Avenue in Longwood, a few doors from Carrion’s residence.
• Officers from the 46th Precinct found Carrion with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, and he was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital.
• No arrests have been made, and investigators are seeking a male in a gray or white hooded sweatshirt who was seen fleeing on a bicycle; tips can be shared with Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
• Precinct data through Sept. 14 show six homicides year-to-date, down from 23 at this point last year, with shootings down 53.8% to 18 from 39.
