Overview
- The NYPD said Frederick Green, 20, was taken into custody on Monday near Buffalo and transported to Manhattan, where he was charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
- The U.S. Marshals’ New York–New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted in the apprehension, and reporting says officers located Green in university housing linked to his girlfriend in Amherst.
- Police said the Nov. 16 shooting occurred after verbal taunts about clothing escalated into a brawl outside the Sei Less restaurant; two shots were fired and one struck Boyd in the abdomen, with the bullet lodging in his lung.
- Investigators had released surveillance images and received a Crime Stoppers tip that helped identify the suspect, and authorities have said robbery did not appear to be the motive.
- Boyd underwent multiple procedures, was briefly readmitted during recovery, and recently visited the Jets’ facility; law enforcement sources report Green, a Bronx resident, has prior arrests.
