Bronx Fire Claims Life in Lithium-Ion Battery Tragedy

A 34-year-old man died in a Bronx apartment fire, marking the fifth lithium-ion battery-related fatality in NYC this year.

The fire erupted late Thursday night in a third-floor apartment on Beaumont Avenue, Bronx.
Firefighters found an e-bike battery charging in the apartment, which is suspected to have caused the blaze.
Two firefighters sustained minor injuries, and another tenant was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The incident follows a similar fatal fire in Brooklyn just over a week ago, also linked to a lithium-ion battery.
