Overview

• Eighteen-year-old Josue Lopez-Vasquez had weapons charges dismissed after investigators concluded he was not involved in the Sept. 1 Allerton Avenue attack that killed 25-year-old Jamari Henry and wounded four others.
• He was arrested from his hospital bed after officers found a .45-caliber magazine on his dashboard and a pistol beneath his minivan following a police pursuit and collision.
• Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators indicated a shooter’s gun flew under his vehicle and the magazine entered his car during the crash.
• District Attorney Darcel Clark announced indictments of 10 adult and teenage suspects tied to two fatal mass shootings in August and September and a third slaying.
• Prosecutors said the firearms in those cases were linked by ballistic testing to 13 other shootings, and they charged Desean Edwards with the Sept. 2 killing of Jontay Davis.
