Overview

• Denver placed linebacker Dre Greenlaw on short-term injured reserve with a thigh injury, sidelining him at least four games and making him eligible to return in Week 7 against the Giants on Oct. 19.
• Tight end Evan Engram will miss Sunday’s game at the Chargers with a back injury that arose during Week 2; he has four receptions for 33 yards this season.
• The Broncos elevated linebacker Garret Wallow and fullback Adam Prentice from the practice squad for Week 3 and have not yet filled Greenlaw’s 53-man roster spot.
• Greenlaw has dealt with recurring quad issues since spring and suffered a recent setback after Denver initially tried to ramp him up without using IR.
• With Greenlaw out, Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad are expected to handle most inside-linebacker snaps; Greenlaw signed a three-year, $31.5 million deal in March.
