Broadway Grosses Hold at $31.4 Million as Hamilton Leads and Ragtime Sells Out Previews

Star casting drove premium pricing, lifting weekly grosses above last year.

  • Hamilton led the board with $3,743,602 and the week’s highest average ticket at $348.18, buoyed by Leslie Odom Jr.’s return.
  • Just in Time posted a best-ever $1,338,248 and averaged $235.81 per ticket at Circle in the Square, with the show’s sold-out run continuing as Sarah Hyland takes over Oct. 8.
  • Ragtime grossed $978,700 from seven sold-out previews at Lincoln Center Theater’s Vivian Beaumont, ahead of its Oct. 16 opening.
  • The top earners were Hamilton, Wicked ($2.05 million), The Lion King ($1.94 million), Waiting for Godot ($1.87 million, $239.47 average ticket), and Art ($1.49 million), while season-to-date grosses reached $641,000,926, up about 9% year over year.
