Broadcom Launches $35 Billion AI Infrastructure Platform With Apollo and Blackstone
The financed platform will use Broadcom-designed ASICs and networking to lower the cost and power of deploying AI inference at scale.
Overview
- Broadcom announced a new AI XPV infrastructure platform backed by an initial $35 billion in financing from Apollo Global Management and Blackstone’s credit and insurance business to fund large-scale AI compute deployments.
- The platform is built around Broadcom’s custom ASICs and data-center networking and is planned to enable more than 20 gigawatts of compute capacity by 2028 while supporting over 1 gigawatt of capacity for Anthropic.
- Broadcom’s Tanzu unit released the largest open-source Spring security update in the framework’s history and expanded clean-room builds, offering day-zero CVE patches, SLSA Level 3 supply-chain validation, and validation of more than 100,000 dependency builds.
- The company said Spring security advisories jumped sharply and it scaled AI-assisted vulnerability scanning to detect and validate fixes across transitive Java dependencies.
- Investors have reacted positively to Broadcom’s profitability and the financing plan, but analysts warn execution risk, customer concentration among a few hyperscalers, and the need to prove large-scale deployment economics remain key watch points.
