Britney Spears' Childhood Home Listed for $1.2 Million Amid Release of Her Memoir

Priced significantly above market value, the Kentwood, Louisiana home, where Spears spent her childhood, features original furnishings and memorabilia; listed amidst the release of Spears's memoir which sold more than 1 million copies within a week.

  • Britney Spears' childhood home in Kentwood, Louisiana was recently listed for sale at $1.2 million, a significantly higher price compared with $289,000 it was sold for in 2021 by the pop star's estranged father, Jamie Spears.
  • The house, where Spears grew up, is being sold as a piece of history and includes original furnishings and memorabilia, such as a mirror with Britney Spears stickers and graffiti defaming Christina Aguilera, said to be written by Spears herself.
  • While the 2,229 square-feet home features three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a basketball hoop and a two-car garage, the actual appraised value of the house is closer to $300,000, meaning any interested buyer would have to pay cash.
  • The house is home to a dance studio where Britney Spears began her career, teaching aerobics at 12 years old and starting to dance at just two years old.
  • The home was listed for sale shortly after the publication of Britney Spears' memoir titled 'The Woman in Me', which mentioned the house severally, and sold over 1 million copies in the first week of publication.
