Spears' 'Selfish' Surpasses Timberlake's New Release on iTunes Chart Amid Ongoing Controversy

Britney Spears has apologized to her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake for some of the revelations made in her recent memoir, 'The Woman in Me', where she detailed their past relationship, including an abortion she had during their relationship which she claimed was due to Timberlake's insistence.
Spears praised Timberlake's new song 'Selfish', which was released on the same day as a song of the same title by Spears from her 2011 album 'Femme Fatale'. Fans of Spears streamed her song in large numbers, causing it to surpass Timberlake's new release on the iTunes chart.
Timberlake has not publicly responded to Spears' memoir or the chart competition. He has been promoting his new album 'Everything I Thought It Was', which is set to be released on March 15, and recently performed on 'Saturday Night Live'.
Spears' memoir, released in October 2023, sparked a social media backlash against Timberlake, leading him to temporarily disable comments on his Instagram account.
Spears has stated that her memoir was written for closure and not to offend anyone, and has now made her Instagram account private.
