British Transport Police Release CCTV Images in Two Rail Sex-Assault Investigations

Police appeal for help identifying men pictured to progress two ongoing investigations.

Overview

  • Detectives published an image linked to a May 14 Bakerloo line case in which a man was sexually assaulted after boarding at Maida Vale during morning rush hour before the assailant left at Paddington.
  • Officers say the Bakerloo image shows a man who may have information; he is described as having short black hair and a thin moustache, wearing a white shirt and blue blazer, and carrying a black backpack.
  • A separate appeal concerns a 12-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted twice on August 16 on a train between Birmingham and Hereford while walking to the toilets with her mother.
  • British Transport Police described the Birmingham–Hereford incident as deeply distressing and released an image of a man with brown hair and a beard who was pictured in a grey T-shirt.
  • Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting references 215 of 14 May or 690 of 16 Aug, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
