British Army Signallers Convicted for Sharing Graphic Hamas and ISIS Atrocity Videos

A Bulford court found them guilty of sending offensive footage of desecrated bodies captured by Hamas helmet cams, with one clip showing an ISIS-perpetrated execution.

Overview

  • Signaller Zakariya Munir was convicted on four counts of sending grossly offensive messages and Signaller Mohammed Salah on three counts following a court-martial at Bulford Military Court.
  • The shared helmet-cam clips depicted corpses being searched and kicked by Hamas militants in the aftermath of the October 7 attacks.
  • An ISIS execution video filmed on a militant’s device was also circulated among service personnel after Munir first obtained the footage.
  • Mobile forensics traced the distribution path: Munir forwarded the videos to Salah on October 8 and Salah then passed them to other soldiers.
  • Both members of the 10th Signal Regiment, who enlisted in 2021 and 2019, were dismissed from the British Army after the convictions, underscoring stricter oversight of extremist content sharing.
