British Airways Unveils Next-Generation Lounges in Miami and Dubai
The openings introduce a destination-tailored design by Gensler that will guide future lounge upgrades under the airline’s £7 billion customer transformation.
Overview
- The Miami International Airport space in Terminal E spans 13,000 square feet across five zones and is the airline’s largest lounge outside London Heathrow.
- It restores a dedicated British Airways lounge at MIA for the first time in decades and offers airfield views, a full-service bar, focus pods, showers and a self-serve dining area with locally inspired dishes.
- A private Concorde Dining Room in Miami provides First Class passengers with an à la carte menu, including Wagyu beef and roasted scallops, alongside Champagne such as Pommery Cuvée Louise 2005.
- The design blends local identity with British heritage—Art Deco cues and a mirrored “London Calling” feature in Miami—under a global concept created with Gensler to standardize future lounges.
- Dubai’s new Terminal 1 lounge covers nearly 5,800 square feet with Middle Eastern design touches, a Concorde Dining Room, regional food and signature drinks, built with local partner Al Tayer Stocks.
