British Airways expands India network and revives first class on MumbaiLondon route

The airline plans to raise frequencies on key routes by leveraging cargo flows from the India-UK free trade agreement.

  • British Airways currently operates 56 weekly flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, up 25% from pre-pandemic levels.
  • It will upgrade one daily MumbaiLondon Heathrow service to include first class cabins from October 27, marking the return of the premium offering after nearly five years.
  • The carrier plans to boost Mumbai services to three flights per day this winter and add a third daily rotation on the Delhi route.
