Brijendra Singh Announces Statewide 'Sadbhav Yatra' Starting Oct. 5

The Congress-approved march seeks to repair strained community relations.

Overview

  • The foot march will begin at Danoda village in Narwana, Jind, and is planned to span roughly 2,600–2,800 km over six to seven months across all 90 assembly constituencies.
  • Organisers say the opening leg will pass through 14 constituencies: Jind, Narwana, Kalayat, Safidon, Julana, Narnaund, Uchana, Uklana, Adampur, Nalwa, Hisar, Barwala, Hansi and Bawani Khera.
  • Former Union minister Birender Singh will join his son in leading the yatra.
  • The campaign will highlight unemployment, agrarian distress, paper leaks, the new army recruitment process, alleged vote chori, and concerns over weakened institutions.
  • Brijendra Singh, who left the BJP for Congress ahead of 2024, is also contesting his 32-vote Uchana loss in the Punjab and Haryana High Court over 215 rejected postal ballots.
