Brighton Signs Argentinian Defender Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors

The 19-year-old, previously eyed by Manchester City and Chelsea, will join the club after his stint with the Argentina Under-23s at the CONMEBOL Olympic qualification tournament.

Brighton & Hove Albion has signed Argentinian defender Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors for a reported transfer fee of £7.86 million.
Barco, who was also reportedly on Manchester City and Chelsea's radar, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Brighton.
The 19-year-old defender is currently with the Argentina Under-23s at the CONMEBOL Olympic qualification tournament and will join Brighton after the tournament concludes in early February.
Barco has made 35 senior appearances for Boca Juniors, where he has recorded a goal and four assists.
Brighton's technical director David Weir praised Barco's skills and progress at domestic and international level.
