Laundrie allegedly sent text messages from Petito’s phone to her mother, pretending to be her, in an attempt to make them believe she was still alive.
Laundrie's parents and their attorney are accused of issuing messages of hope that Petito would be found, despite allegedly knowing she was dead.
The allegations were revealed during depositions of the Laundries in October, ahead of a civil trial scheduled for May.
