The Milwaukee Brewers have signed right-hander Jakob Junis to a one-year, $7 million contract, bolstering their starting rotation.
Junis, a seven-year MLB veteran, previously played for the San Francisco Giants, where he made 40 appearances last season, including four starts.
In a separate move, the Brewers traded pitcher Ethan Small to the Giants for cash considerations.
Junis is expected to compete for a rotation spot behind Freddy Peralta and Wade Miley, following the trade of Corbin Burnes to the Orioles.
Junis's performance last season included a career-best 3.87 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 86 innings.
