Brewers Shortstop Willy Adames Hospitalized After Being Struck By Foul Ball, Placed On Concussion List

Adames was hit in the head by a foul ball off the bat of teammate Brian Anderson while sitting in the dugout during Friday's Brewers-Giants game.
Adames was taken to the hospital, where tests revealed no fractures, but he was kept overnight for observation and placed on the 7-day concussion list.
The Brewers called up infielder Andruw Monasterio to replace Adames, who will not travel with the team to Toronto but may rejoin them later in the week in Cincinnati.
Anderson and the rest of the Brewers expressed concern for Adames, who has been one of the team's emotional leaders since being acquired in a trade last May.
The Giants won the first two games of the series against the Brewers, who entered the series leading the NL Central division.
