Overview
- The Brewers placed 21-year-old Jackson Chourio on the 10-day injured list retroactive to July 30 after he strained his right hamstring running out a leadoff triple against the Cubs.
- Manager Pat Murphy said Chourio’s injury proved more serious than initially evaluated and that the outfielder will receive a platelet-rich plasma injection as part of his rehabilitation.
- To cover Chourio’s absence, Milwaukee added trade-deadline acquisition Brandon Lockridge to the active roster and will mix in Sal Frelick, Blake Perkins and Isaac Collins in the outfield rotation.
- Through 106 games this season, Chourio is batting .276 with 17 home runs, 67 RBIs and 18 stolen bases while the Brewers maintain the majors’ best record at 64-44.
- Chourio’s retroactive IL placement makes him eligible to return as soon as August 9, pending his recovery progress.
