Bremen Fire Department Van Tips Over on Icy A27, Driver Uninjured

Authorities urged residents to avoid travel after crews recovered the logistics vehicle with heavy equipment.

  • The crash occurred around 10:25 a.m. Saturday on the A27 near Bremen’s Stadtwaldsee in the direction of Hanover.
  • The small van, used for supply runs between fire and rescue stations, skidded on a snow- and ice-covered roadway and came to rest on its side.
  • Feuerwehr Bremen reported that the driver was unhurt.
  • Personnel from Fire and Rescue Station 7 recovered the heavily damaged vehicle and it was towed to Station 1.
