Overview

  • Telli has been rolled out to every public school in Bremen since early 2025, making it the first statewide deployment of a classroom AI tool in Germany.
  • The chatbot operates solely on pseudonymized data hosted within EU servers, ensuring no personal information is transmitted to external large language model providers.
  • Built on open-source architecture, Telli intermediates between various LLMs, including those from OpenAI and Meta, and integrates with Bremen’s VIDIS identity-management system for seamless access.
  • Teachers can upload custom documents to generate context-specific responses and design interactive learning modules that students access via QR codes or links.
  • As part of the 16-state Adaptives Intelligentes System initiative, Telli represents phase one of a planned comprehensive digital learning environment featuring adaptive materials, recommendation engines and tutoring functions.
