Overview

  • Police reported about 25,000 people marched in Bremen under the motto “Pride must go on! Gemeinsam. Laut. Für Alle.”.
  • Parade groups and trucks set off from Altenwall toward the Hauptbahnhof, with several streets closed to traffic.
  • Organizers cited the FDP’s July 2024 motion “Schluss mit Gendersprache im öffentlichen Dienst,” which some in the community viewed as queer-hostile, as the reason for the exclusion.
  • CSD spokesperson Jermaine Greene noted differing views within the community; individual FDP members were welcome to join privately and the party said it regretted the decision.
  • In a separate event in Magdeburg, police counted roughly 2,700 CSD participants and about 350 at a right-wing counterdemonstration, with proceedings largely calm and several investigations opened.
