Overview

  • She first noticed a lump in July 2022 while breastfeeding and was told by her GP and a breast clinic that it was a blocked milk duct and then a milk cyst without biopsy on multiple drainages.
  • After blood appeared in the fluid, ultrasounds and mammograms in November 2022 revealed grade 3 triple-negative breast cancer with two tumours in her left breast and lymph node spread.
  • Mid-2023 scans uncovered 13 brain metastases, leading doctors to pause chemotherapy so she could begin targeted radiotherapy for her brain lesions.
  • Following rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a double mastectomy, she is now medically stable on the PARP inhibitor Olaparib but expects her disease to remain life-limiting.
  • She has launched a public GoFundMe and is campaigning for increased funding and awareness to improve timely cancer diagnosis in postpartum women.
