Overview

  • Stewart, out since a July 26 right-knee bone bruise, fully participated in Liberty practice on Aug. 18 for the first time since the injury.
  • Head coach Sandy Brondello said the team will keep building her workload and cited Aug. 25 vs. the Sun and Aug. 28 vs. the Mystics as potential return dates.
  • Stewart previously set her Aug. 27 birthday as a personal deadline to be back on the court.
  • The Liberty are 21–13 and now third in the standings after a 4–6 stretch without Stewart, including multiple games against league-leading Minnesota.
  • New York added Emma Meesseman during Stewart’s absence, and she has averaged about 15.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists to help stabilize the frontcourt.
