Breaking Makes Its Olympic Debut in Paris

The sport, rooted in hip-hop culture, aims to captivate global audiences and secure its place in future Games.

Breaking, also known as competitive breakdancing, will feature in the 2024 Paris Olympics with events on August 9 and 10.
The competition will be held at Place de la Concorde, a venue also hosting BMX freestyle, skateboarding, and 3x3 basketball.
Participants will be judged on technique, vocabulary, execution, musicality, and originality by a panel of nine judges.
Team USA hopes to change perceptions of breaking and prove its athletic and artistic legitimacy on the world stage.
Despite its inclusion in Paris, breaking is not currently scheduled for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
