  • Curta Santos’ 23rd edition is underway through Nov. 9 with 59 free screenings at Teatro Guarany, opening with Gabriel Mascaro’s O Último Azul and tributes to Mascaro and Nuno Leal Maia.
  • Museu do Pontal marks four years at its Barra home this weekend with the free festival Festas, sambas e outros carnavais, inaugurating three exhibitions and hosting shows including Mart’nália, with shuttle vans from Jardim Oceânico and Terminal Alvorada.
  • Festival Gastronomia Preta takes over the CCBB’s outdoor area across the weekend with a food fair and concerts featuring Arlindinho on Friday, Olodum on Saturday and Teresa Cristina on Sunday.
  • UCI Cinemas’ anniversary UCI Day on Monday, Nov. 10, offers nationwide tickets at R$12 (IMAX at R$15) for new releases, special sessions and classics such as Dirty Dancing and Blade Runner — The Final Cut.
  • Seasonal rollouts begin at shopping centers, with arrivals of Papai Noel such as Flamboyant Shopping’s Nov. 6 event in Goiânia using toy-for-ticket entry and silent fireworks, alongside upcoming launches in Vale do Paraíba malls.
