Brazil’s Unified Federal Hiring Exam Set for Sunday as Security Is Stepped Up

New police-led safeguards follow a fraud probe into last year’s test.

Overview

  • About 761,528 registered candidates will compete for 3,652 positions across 32 federal bodies, with tests applied on October 5 in 228 cities and 1,294 sites.
  • Security upgrades include barcode-identified pages per candidate, metal detectors in every room and bathroom, and electronic-point detectors used under police guidance, with test versions revealed only when answer keys are released.
  • A nationwide security operation will escort and guard materials with coordination from the Federal Police, Federal Highway Police, state Military Police, the National Force, and Abin; the recent PF probe into 2024 fraud led to two arrests and one open warrant.
  • The objective exam uses multiple choice questions—90 for higher level (13:00–18:00) and 68 for intermediate (13:00–16:30)—and only approved candidates advance to the discursive phase on December 7.
  • Candidates must check the FGV portal for confirmation cards and arrive early, as gates open at 11:30 and close at 12:30 (Brasília time); competition varies by block, with Block 9 drawing 177,598 applicants for 340 vacancies.
