Brazil's Top Court Chief to Attend COP30 in Belém With Judicial Climate Declaration Planned

Edson Fachin said he will travel to Belém on Nov. 6 to join the heads‑of‑state Climate Summit scheduled for Nov. 6–7.
He plans to remain in the host city to follow the official COP30 proceedings from Nov. 10 to 21.
The judiciary will hold a climate‑justice event on Nov. 13 that aims to issue a declaration of principles to guide courts on climate cases.
During Fachin’s trip, in‑person Supreme Court sessions will be presided over by Vice‑President Alexandre de Moraes.
Valor Econômico reports that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva invited Fachin to attend.
