Brazilian Federal Police Report 316 Unauthorized Drones, Neutralize 31 Near COP30 Sites

An integrated command is using detection and jamming technology to secure restricted airspace.

Overview

  • The operations are run by the CIC-ARP/CM led by the Federal Police with the Armed Forces and other security bodies.
  • Deployed systems can detect drones up to 10 kilometers away and neutralize flights within roughly 2 kilometers.
  • Irregular overflights were logged near Belém International Airport, Parque da Cidade, the Outeiro and Miramar ports, and along presidential travel routes.
  • Authorities say monitoring and mitigation will remain in place throughout COP30, including the leaders’ summit on November 6–7 and the main conference from November 10–21.
  • Unauthorized flights can draw administrative, civil, and criminal penalties, while legal operations outside restricted zones require Anatel homologation, Anac SISANT registration, Decea Sarpas authorization, valid ARO, and RETA insurance.
