Brazilian Cities Finalize All Souls’ Day Cemetery Plans for Sunday

  • Fortaleza will run 23 reserve buses from 5:00 to 19:00, reinforce 19 routes and deploy 85 traffic agents, with targeted roadblocks near major cemeteries such as São José, Messejana and São João Batista.

  • Southeast hubs outlined turnout and logistics, with Campinas projecting about 100,000 visitors, Sorocaba and São José dos Campos around 50,000 each, online grave-location tools in some cities, and temporary road changes managed by local mobility departments.
  • Cities issued visitor rules and support measures, including temporary bans on renovations (e.g., Maceió), regulated commerce outside cemeteries, dengue-prevention guidance to avoid water‑holding containers, and amenities such as water stations, shade tents and accessibility assistance.
