Brazil Vehicle Financing Reaches 7.32 Million in 2025, Highest Since 2011

Used-car credit led the expansion, with the Northeast and North posting the sharpest gains.

  • B3’s SNG recorded 7.32 million financed units in 2025, a 2% increase from 2024 and the strongest level since 2011.
  • Used vehicles accounted for 4.66 million financed units, compared with 2.66 million new vehicles across light, motorcycle, and heavy segments.
  • December financing totaled 682,000 units, up 9.4% from November and 11% year over year, including 483,000 light vehicles, 173,000 motorcycles, and 25,000 heavy vehicles.
  • Crédito Direto ao Consumidor (CDC) represented 86.3% of December operations, followed by consórcio at 13.0%, highlighting the central role of consumer credit.
  • Regional results showed the Northeast up 12.3% and the North up 9.8%, while the Southeast accounted for 41.9% of financed units nationwide.
