A federal provisional measure opens access for 14.1 million affected workers with a two-stage payout and automatic deposits where banking details are registered.

Overview

  • The first tranche will be credited Dec. 29–30, paying up to R$1,800 per eligible FGTS account and disbursing about R$3.9 billion.
  • The second tranche will deposit remaining balances from Feb. 2 to Feb. 12, 2026, totaling roughly another R$3.9 billion.
  • Eligibility covers those who opted for the saque-aniversário and had their employment contract suspended or terminated between Jan. 1, 2020 and Dec. 23, 2025, provided there is a balance tied to that contract.
  • Caixa will deposit automatically to the bank account registered in the FGTS app if the registration was active by Dec. 18, with about 87% of workers set to receive this way; others can withdraw in person at Caixa branches, lottery outlets, ATMs or Caixa Aqui.
  • Funds pledged as collateral for saque-aniversário loans and amounts under judicial block remain unavailable, and in rescissions by mutual agreement workers may withdraw 80% of the available balance.
