Brazil Starts October Bolsa Família Payouts as Auxílio Gás Returns and 'Gás do Povo' Nears Launch

• Caixa began the October Bolsa Família disbursement on Monday, Oct. 20, paying NIS ending in 1 and proceeding daily through Oct. 31 for NIS ending in 0.
• The program guarantees a minimum of R$600 per family this month, with supplements of R$150 for children up to 6 and R$50 for pregnant women and youths 7–18, and requires CadÚnico registration with per‑capita income at or below R$218.
• October’s Auxílio Gás is R$108, follows the same calendar, and will reach more than five million families, with an outlay of about R$542 million.
• Beneficiaries in municipalities under emergency or calamity receive a unified deposit regardless of NIS, and details on dates and amounts can be checked in the Caixa Tem app.
• The government published regional reference prices for the new Gás do Povo on Oct. 18; the program plans free cylinder pickups at accredited retailers for about 15.5 million families, prioritizes those on Bolsa Família with updated CadÚnico records, and is expected to begin deliveries in late November.
