Brazil Starts Early December Bolsa Família Payouts as Auxílio Gás Credits Begin

The accelerated calendar places aid in accounts before Christmas, pairing bimonthly gas support with December benefits.

Overview

  • About 18.7 million families will be paid this month, with an average of R$ 691.37 per household and a total federal outlay of roughly R$ 12.74 billion.
  • Deposits run on a staggered schedule by final NIS digit from December 10 (NIS 1) to December 23 (NIS 0), with unified payment today for municipalities under emergency or calamity in listed states.
  • Auxílio Gás pays R$ 110 in December to approximately 4.41 million families, following the same NIS calendar and crediting automatically alongside Bolsa Família.
  • The program guarantees a minimum R$ 600 per family and adds R$ 150 per child up to 6 years, R$ 50 for each pregnant woman, and R$ 50 per child or youth aged 7 to 18, plus six R$ 50 installments for nursing mothers.
  • Around 3 million families are covered by the “regra de proteção,” receiving 50% of their benefit for up to one year after income rises through employment, under rules tightened in June.
