Brazil Launches Monthlong Child and Teen Vaccination Drive Through Oct. 31

Federal doses, R$150 million in support plus app alerts bolster local efforts to recover missed shots, aiming to prevent disease resurgence.

Overview

  • Running nationwide from Oct. 6–31, the campaign offers the full 2025 immunization schedule for children and adolescents up to 15 years, including poliomyelitis and Covid-19.
  • The Health Ministry supplied more than 6.8 million vaccine doses and transferred R$150 million to states and municipalities to organize local actions.
  • A national Day D is set for Saturday, Oct. 18, with extended hours at health posts to expand access and increase uptake.
  • Priorities include catching up HPV, yellow fever and measles (MMR); HPV catch-up now reaches ages 15–19, and measles vaccine is available for people 12 months to 59 years to curb reintroduction.
  • Meu SUS Digital will send reminders to roughly 40 million users with real-time access to the Caderneta Digital, while cities expand clinics and school-based sites, such as Rio’s 239 units and supercenters operating 8:00–22:00.
