Brazil Hits 19 Medals at Para Swimming Worlds After Four Golds, Climbs to Fourth

  • Golds came from Beatriz Flausino in the 100m breast SB14 (1:12.61), Carol Santiago in the 50m freestyle S12 (27.29), Gabriel Araújo in the 100m back S2 (1:54.58), and the 4x50m medley 20-point relay.
  • The medley relay of Samuel Oliveira, Tiago Oliveira, Alessandra Oliveira and Mayara Petzold won in 2:30.94.
  • Silvers included Débora Carneiro in the 100m breast SB14, Lucilene Sousa in the 50m freestyle S12 (27.89) and Samuel Oliveira in the 50m butterfly S5 (31.98).
  • Earlier results featured Alessandra Oliveira’s world record to win the 100m breast SB4, a 4x50m mixed 20-point freestyle relay silver, and podiums by Gabriel Bandeira, Thomaz Matera, Lídia Cruz and Samuel Oliveira across S14, S11, S4 and S5 events.
