Overview

  • Capes published Portaria No. 327 in the Diário Oficial on November 17, formally regulating the Bolsa Mais Professores program.
  • The stipend is R$2,100 per month for up to 24 months, is non-extendable, and cannot be counted toward the national teacher salary floor.
  • Payment is conditioned on a 360-hour, 24-month distance specialization certified by a higher education institution, with networks obligated to adjust workloads without pay cuts.
  • Participation by state and municipal systems is voluntary via SIMEC, with forthcoming Capes calls defining distribution based on socioeconomic indicators and teacher training adequacy, and placement guided by IDEB.
  • Eligible candidates include newly hired teachers for the program, probationary civil servants, and those with at least a two-year contract who hold licensure or pedagogical training recognized by the MEC, with selection run by local networks that may use Prova Nacional Docente scores and appoint mentors.
