Brazil Finalizes 2026 PIS/Pasep: Payments on the 15th, Inflation-Indexed Income Cap

Eligibility checks start February 5 ahead of deposits by birth month running February to August via Caixa and Banco do Brasil.

Overview

  • The 2026 abono salarial calendar sets all releases for the 15th, with deposits by birth month from February to August (Jan: Feb 15; Feb: Mar 15; Mar/Apr: Apr 15; May/Jun: May 15; Jul/Aug: Jun 15; Sep/Oct: Jul 15; Nov/Dec: Aug 15).
  • For the 2024 year-base, the eligibility income ceiling is R$ 2,765.93, and future thresholds will be adjusted by INPC inflation rather than tied to the minimum wage.
  • Withdrawals can be made until the last banking business day of December 2026, after which unclaimed amounts return to the FAT and must be recovered through Ministry of Labor channels.
  • Eligibility rules remain in place, including at least five years of PIS/Pasep registration, a minimum of 30 days worked in 2024, correct employer data in RAIS/eSocial, and proportional benefit values up to one minimum wage.
  • PIS is paid by Caixa and Pasep by Banco do Brasil, with credit to account, PIX/TED transfers or in-person withdrawal; Codefat approved R$ 33.5 billion for 2026, with payments beginning February 15.
