Brazil Deploys Tightened Security as Unified Civil Service Exam Draws 761,000 Candidates Sunday

Security upgrades follow a federal police fraud probe.

Overview

  • The objective tests will run in 228 cities across 1,294 sites for 3,652 federal positions, with about 761,000 registered candidates.
  • Gates open at 11:30 and close at 12:30 Brasília time; exams start at 13:00 and last 5 hours for higher-level roles or 3 hours 30 minutes for intermediate.
  • Measures include metal detectors in rooms and bathrooms, electronic earpiece detection, barcode IDs on every page, escorted transport, and guarded storage with PF, PRF, state military police, Força Nacional and Abin.
  • Candidates must show an official photo ID in physical form or via gov.br apps; prints, photos and copies are not accepted, and belongings stay sealed in provided envelopes; bring a transparent blue or black pen.
  • Site addresses appear on the FGV confirmation card accessed via gov.br; exam booklets and preliminary answer keys are set for October 6, results and discursive convocation for November 12, and the discursive phase for December 7.
