Bravo Taps Craig Conover for First Scripted Microdrama on Peacock

The short-form vertical series will test scripted storytelling using reality talent to drive Peacock mobile engagement ahead of Conover’s return to Southern Charm.

Overview

  • Bravo announced Charmed by a Southern Monster on Friday, Oct. 23, naming Craig Conover as Hunter Caldwell and Nicole Mattox as Maeve Marchant with a Peacock mobile-app premiere set for Monday, Nov. 9.
  • The series follows a corporate fixer sent to seduce a rumored murderer into selling his family estate who becomes entangled with him while facing a dangerous ex-boyfriend.
  • Micromaker and Haymaker East produce the project with Aaron Rothman, Josh Halpert and Jesse Light as executive producers, Caroline Bomback as co-executive producer, Lyla Trilling as writer and Yoraiia as director.
  • This is Bravo’s third microdrama for Peacock but its first fully scripted short-form entry, joining earlier unscripted vertical releases such as Campus Confidential: Miami and Salon Confessionals.
  • By casting a known reality star and timing the November 9 premiere just before Southern Charm Season 12, Bravo and Peacock are using franchise talent to drive cross-platform viewing and to expand mobile-first scripted offerings.
