Martinez to provide outfield depth, Owens heads to Texas in exchange

  • Martinez, 27, made his major league debut last season with the Rangers, batting .225 with one homer and four RBIs in 17 games.
  • In the minor leagues last season, Martinez hit .297 with 14 homers, 60 RBIs and 41 stolen bases across three different levels.
  • Owens, 23, had a 0-6 record with four saves and a 3.03 ERA in 29 games last season, split between Double-A Mississippi and High-A Rome.
  • Martinez is expected to provide outfield depth for the Braves and will compete for a bench job in spring training.
