Braves Recall Dunning, Seabold and Claim Jake Fraley in Roster Reset

The moves reflect a quick bullpen reset following uneven relief work.

Overview

  • Atlanta announced Tuesday that right-handers Dane Dunning and Connor Seabold were recalled while Daysbel Hernández and Hunter Stratton were optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.
  • Dunning, acquired July 18, worked a scoreless inning with two strikeouts in Tuesday’s win after posting a 14.29 ERA in his first four Braves outings.
  • Seabold, claimed off waivers on Aug. 10, made his Braves debut Tuesday with 1.1 innings and two runs allowed.
  • The Braves also claimed outfielder Jake Fraley off waivers from the Reds after his Sunday DFA; he is hitting .232 this season with six home runs and 23 RBIs.
  • Hernández had been 4-2 with a 2.72 ERA over 38 relief appearances earlier this year, while Stratton owns a 7.27 ERA in six outings between Pittsburgh and Atlanta.
