Braves Acquire Max Stassi and David Fletcher from Angels
Trade involving minor leaguers Evan White and Tyler Thomas expected to save Angels $6 million in 2024 payroll.
- Atlanta Braves have acquired catcher Max Stassi and infielder David Fletcher from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for minor-league first baseman Evan White and pitcher Tyler Thomas.
- Stassi, who missed all of last season due to a hip strain and complications following the birth of his son, still has one year left on his three-year, $17.5 million extension.
- Fletcher, who spent much of 2023 in Triple A after struggling offensively, is owed $15.5 million over the next two seasons.
- Neither White nor Taylor will be added to the Angels’ 40-man roster. White, who hasn't played in the majors since 2021, is still owed $15 million over the next two years.
- The trade will save the Angels about $6 million in payroll for 2024.
