Brandenburg Extends Childcare Fee Relief for Low-Income Families

SPD and BSW pledge to continue supporting parents amid coalition talks, benefiting 150,000 children.

Since January 2023, parents with a net income up to €35,000 have been exempt from childcare fees.
Families earning up to €55,000 receive partial relief through capped fees.
The initiative is part of the Brandenburg aid package addressing the impacts of the Ukraine crisis.
The policy was set to expire at the end of the year but will now continue under new legislation.
