Overview

• A 2021 police video interview was played on Monday showing a woman describing how Brain told her to lie on the floor, removed her top and massaged her as part of a so-called healing ritual
• The complainant said Brain regularly summoned her to his home to ‘put him to bed,’ kissing and touching her while framing the encounters as therapy for her alleged sexual repression
• She testified that she believed Brain was a prophet representing God and felt too terrified to refuse his advances or question his authority
• Defence counsel Iain Simkin KC began cross-examining the complainant, disputing the scale of non-consensual contact and asserting she could have declined or left at any time
• One juror has been discharged for personal reasons and proceedings continue at r LondLondon Crown Court with further testimony expected
