  • Murdoch died on July 15, 2025 in Alice Springs Hospital’s palliative care unit after succumbing to throat cancer diagnosed in 2019.
  • He was found guilty by the Northern Territory Supreme Court in December 2005 of murdering 28-year-old Peter Falconio near Barrow Creek and of assaulting and attempting to kidnap Falconio’s girlfriend, Joanne Lees.
